Shakira (born February 2, 1977) is a Colombian singer and occasional actress. Her singing career started in 1990, when she was only in elementary school. Born in a big city in Colombia, even though not Bogota, she lived in the Spanish-speaking country for all of her life. She was born in Barranquilla, Colombia, on the northern part of Colombia. On April 19, 2013, she went to film Ben and Toad's Contest for season 3. Her professional partner will be Maksim Chmerkovskiy; in the all-star season 5 will be Tristan MacManus.

She sings lots of Spanish songs. Some of the songs she sings are in English. Mostly she uses Spanish words because her country Colombia speaks Spanish. Although Colombia does not have English, she uses English words sometime (normally during the FIFA World Cup.

She is currently a judge for The Voice, in some of the show's seasons. She and Usher joined the show as judges for season 5, replacing Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green.
