Russia hosted the Winter Olympic Games and the Paralympics in 2014 (in Sochi). After 1992, it was split up from the Soviet Union into countries. Before it was split up, it hosted the Summer Olympics in 1980.

They have qualified for a Rugby World Cup, but came so close in 2015.

Two Russian cities have hosted the Olympics. Moscow has hosted 1980 Summer Olympics (it was Soviet Union at that time). Sochi has hosted the 2014 Winter Olympics, later they would qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. After the Olympics, the host city hosts a motorsport race called the Russian Grand Prix in Formula One, and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

As of 6 March 2024, there are no verified living supercentenarian in Russia. The country has no verified supercentenarians from the country so Canada is the biggest country of supercentenarians. A couple of claims of supercentenarians are from that country.

Three short track speed skaters even though needed to qualify for Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, they did not participate in any distance or the relay. Their names were Apolo Anton Ohno, Wang Meng, Lee Eun-Byul, Lee Jung-Su and Noh Jin-Kyu.

Current BATC Squad

This is Russia's current squad (10 men and 10 women). The first Russian to drive in the IndyCar series, Mikhail Aleshin, was announced as a member of the squad on June 2 when Nikolay Khrenkov died one day after the Germany national team won Detroit 2 (this was the German national team's only 2014 win).

The current squad will use some of it's players from the 2014 World Cup.
