Mudkip is a Water type Pokemon and a starter Pokemon in the Hoenn region, introduced in Generation III. Mudkip can be chosen at the beginning of their adventures in Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, Pokemon Emerald Version and Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Mudkip evolves into Marshtomp starting at level 16 and later evolves into Swampert starting at level 36.

Since the first Gym Leader in Hoenn specializes in Rock type Pokemon, it will be easy to battle due to Water type's strength against Rock types.

Trivia

• Along with Torchic and Treecko, Mudkip is one of the Starter Pokemon in the Hoenn region.
• Mudkip is entered in the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans, and can only qualify if Hélio Castroneves, Will Power, Scott Dixon or Sébastien Bourdais are in the event.
  • Since both Bourdais and Dixon are entered, Mudkip automatically qualifies for the race.
• Mudkip qualified for the Race of the Stars in Colombia in 2016 by the virtue of Jones dying at 116 in the first day of action at Indianapolis GP.
