Mewtwo is a Psychic type Legendary Pokemon introduced in Generation I.

It is unknown to evolve into another Pokemon. Mewtwo can Mega Evolve into either Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y.

Despite being genderless, Mewtwo has a gender in both of their Smash Bros. appearances, in Super Smash Bros. Melee as an unlockable character and in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U as a downloadable character. It returns to a fully-playable character status in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Trivia

  • Mewtwo was one of the most suggested Pokemon for Super Smash Bros., the others being Blaziken and Lucario, which both have dual Fighting type.
  • Mewtwo was supposed to appear in the first game and the third game, but in both occasions Mewtwo failed to qualify.
  • Additionally, Mewtwo is one of the only two Pokemon to Mega Evolve into two different forms, the other being Charizard, who is also a Smash Bros. character.
  • Mewtwo first appeared in Ben and Toad's Contest in season 1 week 7; which was considered one of the Big One in BATC.
  • Mewtwo is repeated as the Pokémon Shuffle boss in the Desert Umbra area.
    • This time it is having it's X version. Many people wanted it to be a competition.
    • Mega Mewtwo X's ability is the same as Blaziken, Sceptile and Swampert, but with Fighting types.
    • Mega Mewtwo Y's ability is erasing 10 Pokemon of the same type as Mewtwo (max 10). The mega suits one of the best for Meowth's Coin Mania.
