Hungary is a country in central Europe.

Hungary has a men's hockey team that played the elite World Championship level in 2009 and 2016; both times getting relegated to Division I. Hungary, to date has only won one game at elite World Championship level between 2000 and 2016; in 2016 against Belarus.

The Hungary national football team qualified for the FIFA World Cup nine times; with their best finish second. Hungary's best win so far by many is 10-1 against El Salvador at the 1982 World Cup. Hungary has failed to qualify for every World Cup since 1990 and all the Euros from 1976 through 2012. Their first major tournament since 1986 will be Euro 2016.

Hungarian tennis has been a success. The country hosted the Budapest Grand Prix until it got replaced by the Romanian Open in 2014. Notable Hungarian tennis players include Timea Babos, who is known for her doubles success and her singles breakthrough in 2016.
