Arianna Fontana (born April 14, 1990) is an Italian short track speed skater. She specializes in the 500m event, her favourite distance. She has represented Italy at the Winter Olympics, in 2006, 2010 and 2014. With Wang Meng not competing, she won her first silver medal at the Olympics, in 500m. She has never won a gold medal yet in the Olympics.

Fontana was chosen to be the captain of Infinity on season 5 of Ben and Toad's Contest by the Ben and Toad's Contest cast. She will be appearing in all 20 weeks of the show as their captain unless contestants switch teams from Infinity to Vortex. Her best contestant of her team was voted to be either Yuna Kim, Melissa Rycroft, Sabrina Bryan or Mao Asada.


2006 Winter Olympics

She competed at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino on home soil. She was aged 15, meeting the minimum age since J. R. Celski, Yuna Kim and Mao Asada are born after July 1, 1990. She won a bronze medal in the relay. She came in 11th in the 500 and 6th in 1000m. She did not participate in the 1500m.

2010 Winter Olympics

Fontana was aged 19. She won a bronze medal in the 500m behind China's Wang Meng and host nation's Marianne St-Gelais. She failed to medal in the 1000m, 1500m and the 3000m relay.

2014 Winter Olympics

She was aged 23. She won her first silver medal of her Olympic career with Wang Meng not competing. She medals in every event with the only one being the 1000m (where she was penalized in the quarterfinals). She has made retirement plans after this Olympics. She said "I might stop skating.".
