The 2017 IndyCar Grand Prix at the Glen was the second-last race of the 2017 IndyCar Series season and the second race held at Watkins Glen International after the 2016 revival of the race following the cancellation of the Grand Prix of Boston.

It will ever be IndyCar's last race at the Glen for at least years as in 2018 IndyCar Series, it was replaced by Portland International Raceway.

Practice 1

Graham Rahal led the session, after he took a blistering fast lap in the last minute of practice to overcome Jennie Garth vs. Kyle Massey and Lee Brice vs. Jerrod Niemann quarterfinalist Metagross. Metagross finished 2nd, Chespin finished 3rd, and Scott Dixon, who lost to Pee Saderd Thursday night finished 4th. James Hinchcliffe rounded out the top 5 in 5th.

Practice 2

Scott Dixon led the session, followed by Will Power, last session leader Graham Rahal, Simon Pagenaud and Metagross.

Red flags came out, and one for Chespin.

Practice 3

Qualifying

These seeds entering Watkins Glen from 2017 Bommarito Automotive Group 500 would have been used had a Celebrity Family Feud run from September 3 to September 8. Instead, the standings after the race are used in Kelly Clarkson vs. Amy Schumer and Bindi Irwin vs. Chrissy Metz (September 10).
